In early 2024, a game idea that had been brewing for years resurfaced as the result of discussions of wanting to spend more quality time and play games together with our kids. Games that we could sit down with and just have fun. Playgrounds have turned digital. Kids today and even parents are born gamers but there are no contemporary cross-generational games that take into account the different era of gaming backgrounds. We recognized that we constantly and collectively revolved around three main themes. Games that entertain both the young and the old(er), games that have the thrill of competition but build upon cooperation and games that are easy to pick up but not easily disposable. And suddenly that resurfaced game idea was not merely an idea anymore. It was time, we wanted to take our knowhow and experience and make it happen. And so it was, project Get Colossal had been born.

We set out to create a fresh, bold and witty co-op oriented multiplayer fighting game with a comedic tone and huge robots! But that wasn't all. We also had a clear vision that we wanted to utilize the good parts of indie game development. Keeping things simple with a small but creative team and to work effectively by leveraging proper financial resources and lay strong foundations to be able to grow efficiently as the game grows.
